Simple Tips to Diversify Your Skills

A parent contacted me for advice regarding his child’s admission offer. My colleague introduced us. The parent needed clarification on the course his son was offered. After providing some background information, I asked if the son was present.

Parent: Junior (not actual name) !

Me: Hello, … why did you choose course X?

Junior: …

Me: Have you been doing anything along that line before?

Junior: Yes, I’ve been involved in…

Me: Ok. Is your dad with you?

The son called his father’s attention, and I proceeded to explain the different dimensions of each course to them. I explained to them how the son could become a professional in both fields without even attending a university.

I also discussed the current trends in the labor market and the importance of skill acquisition. I explained how the son could achieve his dream while pursuing the course he was offered, the mutual benefits, and possible employment opportunities while in school.

It is crucial to cultivate our minds to achieve our dreams using what we have presently or current opportunities. The world is too competitive to miss any opportunity at hand.

At the end, you put yourself ahead of those who have to wait till they get what they need before acting.

Am I now a career expert already?

I have only used what I have !

As someone with academic experience in this field, I believe in using opportunities like this to develop and diversify my skills. It will help to strengthen my competitive advantage. I can become an educational consultant without enrolling for a degree in the field.

Use what you have ! It is your strength. Use it to your advantage.

I took a break when I felt sleepy while working. Break time is not unproductive time. It was a reflection time for me.

Now, back to my ‘busyness’
